My Upcoming Wedding

Josh proposed May 14, 2009, a story which I'll have to write another time (on his Father's birthday, and one day before my Mother's birthday). It is now November 17, 2009, ten days before the big day!

There are so many details involved in our wedding, it is not as difficult as I thought, but still very distracting. :) I cannot imagine working the two jobs I was and planning a wedding at the same time.

The most planning has already taken place, we are merely just moving into our new rental home at this time, something that is much more time consuming than we both thought. :) I have planned for these days, but now feel that I could have done more packing. It is coming along. Joshua's apartment is beginning to look empty, and my bedroom at my parents home is beginning to appear much bigger. We have a great deal of unpacking to do yet. I'm hoping we can do most of the unpacking in the next couple days. Saturday morning, four days from now we will move the biggest things, Josh's bed, couch, loveseat, and dining table.

My beautiful wedding dress is a strapless ivory dress with an abundance of beading detail and design on the chest area that moves down to the side and onto the train. I will post a picture after the wedding... I don't want to chance my Groom getting a sneak peak. I'm not superstitious, but I want to see the look on his face when he sees me wearing, it for the first time, my makeup and hair done-up fancy-like.

My bridesmaids are wearing an eggplant satin dress which is very fitted and is a little bit difficult to squeeze into. We had a great deal of problems with the bridesmaid dresses. My mother and I choose to pick a pattern and decided that she would make the dresses, and picked a style that had sleeves. The wedding is in November, and late fall in Minnesota can be very chilly! Most dresses that can be ordered are very bare in the shoulder area. We picked a Vogue pattern, a brand which my mother had never sewn before, and a brand which has very difficult patterns I have since learned. After many issues and too much lost sleep on my mother's part, we have five very beautiful bridesmaid dresses. My three sisters and Josh's two sisters are my bridesmaids.

The three flower girls, my three nieces, are wearing the same color as the bridesmaids, eggplant. These dresses are adorable, and have a sparkly overlay, which I will have to show in a picture later.

My Groom, the Groomsmen, Ring Bearer, and Fathers are wearing dark, chocolate, brown suits. Josh's brother, cousin, and my three brothers are groomsmen. My nephew is the Ring Bearer. I can't wait to see everything when the event finally happens!

I forgot to mention that up until yesterday, we were painting the kitchen, two bedrooms, and hallway. That little project kept me pretty occupied. Josh has taken off work beginning yesterday until shortly after our honeymoon.

Yay! The pieces are falling into place. I know I will be feeling a little bit frazzled, but I hope that I do not focus on any unfinished details and enjoy the big day!
